I agree, survivor means it survived, any vehicle around 50+ years can be labeled a survivor. The word original from new means original from new, not restored. Very few vehicles have very good to excellent original factory applied paint. Joes Junk collection is an exception to the rule, they are great examples of " original from new". This black '70 C 10 is a dead ringer to the black '69 C 20 in earlier link, they are both very very nice condition trucks, but have been refurbished.

I agree with that ^^^

A repaint doesn’t mean it isn’t damn nice, but it can’t be called a survivor.

Wow...if I could post a meme of Val Kilmer calling BS from Top Gun, it would be soooo appropriate!

Similar to my all black ‘72 “Survivor”. Cool truck! Definitely a “new” SPID.

Re: 70 CST BB Survivor for sale in Sioux Falls, SD.

Crazy to see an intact TCS solenoid. Didn't know they were installed on '70 402s. I was able to zoom in on the POP and confirm the BB engine code. I wonder if the truck originally came with bucket seats or were added??

The word original and survivor are way overused today . Repaint it’s not a survivor nor original . It may done to original specs but it’s restored .

This is a survivor car . It’s had a few little spots fixed but 99% of the paint was applied by Studebaker . The interior is 100 % original right down to floor mats .

I believe Keith’s GTO is the same

That '64 Studebaker is such an elegant car. Who needs a bench seat when the bucket folds flat? LOL

Yes - born with paint, interior and driveline, as installed on the Pontiac Michigan assembly line in September of 1964. Including all the discrepancies.

It even has all the original hoses and light bulbs. 5000 original miles. Never been in the snow or sat outside overnight.

Beautiful car Keith . The Hawk has under 30k I still have the original BF Goodrich silvertown tires on rims . My dad wanted the new Perrelli radials when they came out . Had tubes in them , the only modification I have done is added a dual line master cylinder. But even at a national meet they don’t deduct for it because it’s a safety issue

Heh heh heh, I had a '61 Lark VIII convertible. Put down the top and the seats, and look at the stars in her eyes!

Right, IMO, those in the re selling business have a habit of watering down the true concept of "original" for that extra appeal and that extra buck. There are a lot of nicely refurbished trucks out there, but "original from new" trucks that look to good to be true or usually to good to be true. Excellent factory applied paint 50+ years later is a rarity. Buyer Beware is always the rule, always be skeptical of claims.
