Re: Antenna wire
Done.
Searched this site. Used the paint stick trick to remove the glove box liner. Had to grind out the hole for the grommet a bit for it to fit properly. Liner went back in easier than removal. Washed/waxed cowl and screen. Cleanest thing on the truck(smile). ![]() Thanks all...Don. |

Re: Antenna wire
I welded up in that hole for the antenna. I have had older vehicles in the past where some clown decides to make the antenna into the number '7'. Also if you have a nice stereo it is like advertising there is a radio in there.
My solution is to use a "hidden" type antenna...it will mount along the bottom edge of the rear window to be less conspicuous. Doing that eliminates the need to reroute the new harness back along the firewall inside the cab behind the dash. I just ran the antenna lead under the carpet along side the hump on the driver's side to the rear of the truck. There is a depressed area along the hump that the antenna lead fit into perfectly. Re: Antenna wire
1st post in this link.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=720080
has a description. 1st pic is identical to what I did. Tore mine up a bit, nothing serious. All hidden behind the sheet metal. One difference with mine... the bottom lip of the liner needed to be under the sheet metal vs. on top. HTH...Don. |
