72 Two Wheel Drive Blazer - New project
Folks,
I have not been on this forum for a while, ever since I sold my 55 Chevy truck a few years ago. I've been on Corvette Forum and the HAMB a little bit, but now back here so I can discuss ideas, problems and solutions with you guys, on this 1972 Chevy 2WD Blazer. Oh, its not mine, but I am going to get it running and do a few other things over the next coule of weeks. Last edited by vjjack04; 08-07-2023 at 04:30 PM. Reason: add |

Re: 72 Two Wheel Drive Blazer - New project
72gmguy,
Thanks. My first hurdle is the starter. It was all goofed up and would only hit the flywheel for a bit then "zinng". Its a SBC so I figured easy to shim...not so much. Then new starter....however the problem isn't up or down (for shims) it needs to move towards the motor. Gap from the starter armature shaft to the flywheel is about a 1/16+ wider than it should be. Flywheel is 168 tooth. I gotta figure this out first, then it might run. |

Re: 72 Two Wheel Drive Blazer - New project
Buy a lil mini starter like the racecar guys run, I put them on my blazer, the parts house starters are junk. Nice looking blazer, best of luck, I'm sure someone else will have more input to help out....

Re: 72 Two Wheel Drive Blazer - New project
Guys,
Trying to figure out wiring on this 72 Blazer I am working on. Trying to figure out what is what on bulkhead connector. I have looked at the schematic, but still confused. Here's what I am working with (see drawing). This is a replacement M&H bulkhead connector. Are the labels I have so far correct? Can one of you give me details on the rest or any other useful info? Thanks. |
