17x10 all arround ?

I am looking on input if this "could" work

truck is a:

69 C10
Stock 12 bolt in the rear 7in drop (2in blocks + ccp coils, C-notched)
front 6 lug disc conversion 5.5 in drop (spindles and ccp springs)

i am running 17x8 ; 6.139.; 275/55 rear 235/55 front
i run 2In adapters out back to clear the inner Bed walls
and 1in adapters in the front for stance and brake caliper clearance

i want to stay with 6 lugs
so wheel choice is hard

here are options
17x10 all arround , 4 BS or 5BS

or
WELD Venturas
17x10 6.5 BS rear
17x7 4 BS front
thats kind of a drag look

Re: 17x10 all arround ?

nice truck, I'm running 17s on mine. 17x8 up front, 17x10 rear. Update this thread once you get your new wheels, either of these will look great.

The 6.5" back spacing in the back concerns me....as I recall with my project the 4.75" was close but worked. I did use a 67 12 bolt converted to disc brakes, posi and 4" drop coil with a 1" block. I ended up adding a 1" wheel spacer/adapter in the rear to get the look that I wanted.

I am ok with using a 1" adapter

i am wondering about a 10' wide wheel in the front?
i dont run fender wells, but i am concerned about the wheel Lip / Fender clearance

I vote BBS. I had a set of 17x10 on a time trial car. Smacked the track edge more than a few times and no issues. I sold them used after about 10 seasons and they were as true and straight as the day I got them. Best performing wheels I ever owned.

Now that you mention it, on my 72c10 I really want to go wider on the rear but limited on tire options for 17"x12" rim. So I was thinking of going to 18"x12 on rear to tuck in a wider tire and use the 17x10 on rear now up front. But I tried mounting them on front and didn't have the clearance. It was rubbing, but then again I'm running qa1 front suspension not stock.

Sorry, I did not look close enough. The first image is a copy of a BBS RC wheel that I was speaking of. I thought it odd for BBS to have a 6 lug fitment but did not investigate before I posted.
Can a wheel shop like Wheels America fit new barrels to your current wheels to make the width and offset you are looking for?

I ordered these from intro 15yrs ago. I don’t recall. They were ordered for stock 72c10 fleetside sb stock rear end, no wheel spacers, similar drop as yours.
I’ll be home Friday I’ll check

i see, no worries, Yes the design could be BBS RC lol, however this are actual
6lug TRUCK wheels from FORCE they usually house a 33-35" AT-Offroad tire lol

i bet they work with my 275/55 rear and 235/55 front.. they might stretch the tire a bit more than my actual 17x8s but that is good with me.

the reason for a change is the Engine setup

I have a BUICK 455 with TB EFI in it , a great HOTROD motor with a lot of torque and very unique in a C10.
However its a 72 Big block and i faced this TX summer the constant fear of overheating etc... i did not break down , becuase i didntdrive it much lol, however the purpose will change and i plan on driving the truck also long distances and i am a fan of the LS platform, so i build a nice lil 5.3 for it.
its reliable , powerful and a no brainer....

so i switch to modern Motor , i should have more modern wheels with it
