manual Choke piece missing on my Model B carb

I am trying to mount a rebuilt Model B carb on my 67 K10 292 but I am missing a piece and I do not know what it is called or how to replace it. The photo shows my old carb and my finger is pointing to a brass piece that swivels and has a hole in it to receive the manual choke rod that is found in the center of the choke cable. The piece in the photo appears to have been installed at the factory and is not removable. It is held on by some sort of peening process. Any ideas on how to get the choke to attach to the carb? Thanks

The bracket that holds the outer cable mounts under one of the carb body screws.
Who rebuilt the carb?

Take another picture a little farther back and without your finger. There should be a clamp assembly that holds the outside sheath of the choke cable, then you loosen the screw and slide the center wire through the hole in the brass pivot and tighten the screw. Make sure when you do that, that the choke knob is pushed all the way in and the choke is open.

When I go back out I will take a picture of mine (if someone hasn't provided one). I'm baking cookies right now...

Give Mike a shout. He’ll know what you need.

I actually have that particular bracket that holds the cable itself. And they are also selling reproductions of it on ebay for about $28. I am just trying to find a way to get the inner part of the cable, the stiff rod, attached to the carb just as seen in the photo. The way the rod go through that tiny little hole on the square swivel. I have no square swivel. My rebuilt carb does not have this swivel piece and I suspect it was not made for a manual choke, (although I see no other way of choking it). I will get another photo tomorrow of the rebuilt carb.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have spoken with Mike before. He was helpful.

I guess my post is confusing. My rebuilt carb does not have the brass swiveling pivot. This old one (the one in the photo) has this part. My new one does not. I am trying to find a part that will do what the brass pivot does. I actually have the clamp of which you are speaking that holds the whole cable in place.

I just ordered a selection of pieces and parts that are designed for motorcycles. Found them on Amazon for $12. I might get lucky

Re: manual Choke piece missing on my Model B carb

I just rebuilt my rochester 1 barrel B model on my 66 250. I'm guessing yours is just a newer model but I see no reason your choke couldn't be hooked up like mine. I don't know if yours has the bracket held on bu one of the four screws like someone had mentioned and I don't know if yours has the upper hole for the cable core to hook into. I think the pic you provided in the 1st post is a BV which is an automatic choke that has to be pulled from the other side of the carb since that brass swivel is below the pivot point.

Re: manual Choke piece missing on my Model B carb

georgie51, after several posts, you still haven't made it clear what you actually have or what you really need. Showing pictures of someone else's carb or a carb you used to have, doesn't make it any clearer.

If you need the swivel, Mike's has it in their catalog.

If you look at the end of your choke cable, you can possibly see what you had on there before. The choke arm shown by Chevy nutcase, is the style I had on my '67 292.
The end of the cable has to be bent into a "S" shape. If you break that "S" off, it is surprisingly difficult to re-bend to that shape. If you make the bend(s) too tight the wire will snap.

The cable for the swivel choke arm is straight.

I will write more later with better photos. This project started last week and then my daughter was killed in a horrific collision so I am not too good at getting things in order here, I will try again later
