Re: Finally selected... CB, Amp, and Antenna

I still have a ball mount and spring on my Drivers Side step fender of the '68 C/10 Stepside. If the coax still rings out, the connector is in the cab, under the matt. The remote speaker [a Motorola] is still in the ceiling, above the rearview mirror mount. Mic clip is still above the Cigar Lighter outlet.
I just need to sort out a working rig with a bracket and mount it under the Heater controls. I have a Hustler mast, I can screw a stubby in, and it comes about to whip height.

My rig and current antenna. I also have a hump mount where I put one of my SSB rigs but I don't leave those in the truck. There's a outdoor horn speaker mounted on the core support.

I have an old GE external speaker I am thinking of using in my truck. I replaced the speaker and rewired it. The case is metal, and must weigh 2 lbs.

Nice squawk box. Looks overbuilt. And perfectly Period Correct. Might be a tad heavy to mount overhead. Wouldn't want it to break loose on a backcountry ''road'' and smack you in the face. Maybe on the dash top? Or the Tranny hump if it's high...

I was thinking maybe under dash? Haven't figured that out yet.
