...to show you guys the truck I just bought for my 14 year old. Its a factory 396 truck. I plan to steal the motor & trans from it. I have an '84 GMC that I am fixing up & the '69 will be getting a small block for the beginer-driver. Pretty darn good shape for $350...Ill be watching this board a lot closer now & we will keep you guys & gals updated...corn

Forgot this...Today we cleaned up the interior & installed a tach & a set of gauges & a grant wheel that he bought yesterday. I got the engine running (not good though) & made a quick cruise around town.

Wow, a 69 big block CST with leaf springs and buckets. That sounds like a good restoration cantidate to me.
Restore or rod, it looks like a darn good starting point...esp for 350 bucks.
Are all the A/C parts still there?
Slots rock...and the mirrors that you already ditched looked pretty ugly on there.

Ha Ha, ya I almost thought I heard vroom vroom noises a couple times. Him & his buddy sat in it for hours in the driveway, taking it out of park & runnin it through the gears. By the time they were done it was back 10 feet from where they started...corn

That thing looks to be in super good shape too! The interior looks awesome, exterior too. Give those mags a polishing, find a box for it, then give it a paint job, and you've got a sweet ride

Betcha thats a rough ride with no box eh? I drove mine like that for a couple of weeks, and jeese, gives a guy a good headache after an hour, lol

Those look to be factory bucket seats and a factory slider as well. That was definitely a smoking deal!

Uhhhh if the cab is in any sort of shape and the 396 is factory # matching and on the build sheet.......Pretty rare truck.
No more then 4-5% had that motor that year. See the rare options post.

Looks like someone fixed it up a little does it have an alum intake? I see the obvious mallory ign and holley carb and B&M Star shifter Kinda looks like it has an aluminum intake and it has allen bolts holding it down too.

Grim..that's what I was refering to on restoring it..a big block, cst, bucket seats, A/C, leaf springs...all low production options.
I can't judge it from the photos, is that a SWB or a LWB?
How good was the repaint? (The lower trim is missing which was standard on a CST)
