72 Gas Cap

Evening Guys I'm putting the EEC back In my truck I bought the gas cap from from Classic parts I picked the cap for the EEC system you you can see in the picture that the box in came in says EEC cap and on the front of the box it says vented cap is this a vented cap ? do I still need this cap cause I'm venting the line under the cab Thanks

The original equipment 1972 K/5 Blazer, Suburban and pickup truck models with the EEC fuel tank systems used a pressure vacuum (non-vented) gas cap, by design the EEC fuel tank doesn't vent through the filler cap on 72 EEC equipped models. If working on a deserving build and want the correct 72 fuel filler cap, we have both 72 specific GM NOS stainless or NOS painted double ring "pressure vacuum" EEC gas caps available for purchase in the below linked parts board f/s thread.
