Help with truck value - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have the oppourtunity to buy a 1 ton 4X4 pickup. It is technically a 1988, but is what was called the "Heritage" edition. It isn't in perfect shape, but is what i've been looking for. It has a flatbed on it that is in ok shape, it also has a pto drive.

My questions, since I've never owned one of these trucks, what would be a estimate for a price? Is this a good truck, or should i be looking for something else? What problem areas are there with these?

David, is this a crew cab or a regular cab? It should be worth some cash either way. It will have a tbi engine of some sort, sm465 or th400, either mated to a NP205. then the really good part, a dana 60 front and a 14 bolt or dana 70 rear axle.

i would say a rough estimate would be $3k, but I dont have any pics to go by.

it is a regular cab, pretty decent interior, and not as bad as i thought exterior. I wasn't sure on a truck this new, if it would have the dana 60 front end. One of my high school students owns it, and he told me he gave 2700 for it a couple of years ago.

Adams damn close.
NADA says between $2,200-$2,400 depending on mileage.
If it was in top notch condition it would retail for $4600.
