Question how do I get the oilpan on my 250 off? Help please...

Hey all. I'm putting a new clutch in my 67 GMC & I need to get the oilpan off so I can change the rear main seal so I dont have to change the clutch again soon. I have all the bolts out & its not hitting the crank, its hitting the oilpump. Any tips? It's almost an easy take out except for the pump problem...... Thank you sooo much for your help & advice!

If I remember right, I took the motor mounts loose, then jacked up the motor so I could get the pan off.

just put a new rear main in my 250, I used a short block of wood on the side of the block, and a floor jack, pulled one side of the motor mount and had enough lift to slide the pan out. not hard at all

TPHSmith, I too thought it was possible taking one side loose, but didn't know which side so I took em both out. Is it the passenger side that will jack up far enough to get the pan off?

DT I took the left side out, passenger side bolt out of the motor mount. and I didnt have any problems sliding the pan past the oil pump. now maybe because the 250 I worked on was on my 81, but still there shouldnt be that much diffrence I would think
