First Engine Crank
Technically this isn't my very first engine crank (261 cu in - inline six) since I had to get the magneto and TDC aligned. This engine was rebuilt over a decade ago and only started to keep the cylinders oiled and never up to any temp. I was concerned about it even being able to start, but in the end, this was a success.
I now think I hear a valve tap. What is the lash or clearance that I should find on the rockers/valves? First Engine Crank Bob

Re: First Engine Crank
That sounds pretty good. I thought I was hearing a V8 at first.

Re: First Engine Crank
Wow, that's good to hear, thanks. Nope, its just a 1959 Chevy 261 cu in inline six engine with a McCulloch supercharger from a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Still needs some tuning but runs every time I turn the key or use the remote starter button, which is an immense relief since it hasn't been run in a very very long time.

Re: First Engine Crank
Was wondering what that lump with an air filter was.
And having dealt with a custom supercharger setup, and what it entails....that thing is going to rock. My hat's off to you, sir.

Also, just finished the interior and had to include a shot of it too. PS. That is an electric power steering unit you are seeing under the dash.

Re: First Engine Crank
Gotta love it when a plan comes together.
And I love the attention to detail and how clean all that looks. |
