Headers for BP-H8002K
I have a '67 C10 with a Blueprint Engine 383. It has Blueprint's heads (H8002k).
Backstory... For weeks I have researched what I wanted and reached out to Holley about their Hooker high-flow manifolds (8525-3HKR). I asked them if they would fit my application because I have seen a lot of conversation about the motor mount getting in the way. Holley said they would fit as long as I am running aftermarket motor mounts... which I am... CPP-6272MP. I ordered the manifolds and finally got a chance today to bolt them on. They fit really well. However, there is not enough room to get all of the spark plugs in and for the couple of spark plugs that I did manage to get installed, there is no room for the spark plug wire boot. I called Holley back and they seemed shocked to learn that Blueprint raised the ports on their heads. Holley said they don't sell anything that will fit Blueprint's raised port heads and that they are going to put a disclaimer on their website due to this "new" information. I called Blueprint and they said that there are 4 companies that they have worked with that make headers just for their heads. Holley/Hooker is not one of them. Hedman HUSLER Race Headers 770-664-8880 https://www.hedman.com/images/360/hu...talog.html#p=1 Ultimate Headers 440-234-9600 https://ultimateheaders.com/ Sanderson Headers 650-583-4590 https://sandersonheaders.com/ Lemons Race Headers 805-239-8998 https://lemonsheaders.com/ My question... Is anyone running these Blueprint's heads with manifolds or headers on a 2nd gen that you like? I don't mind going with one of the companies that Blueprint recommends but I want to see what you guys are running first. ALL of the options that Blueprint recommends cost a lot more than the $360 Hooker Manifolds and they are about six weeks out for manufacturing and shipping.

Re: Headers for BP-H8002K
Thanks for the info I bought a 355 with the same heads and know I'am going to have to break the create open to see if the hooker headers 2452-3 will work. A member on here said they had no issue running them. (I got my motor back in june) 68 step side long bed

Have you tried Accel shorty spark plugs? Autolite and NGK also sell a "Shorty" spark plug for use with header clearance problems. They are all available from Summit.
I've used the Accel Shorty plugs. In the pictures, the Autolite and NGK actually look shorter but who knows. I've seen them in tapered and gasket seat.

There is a chance the Hooker headers will work, I guess. When I spoke to Holley on the phone the guy was pretty frustrated about the H8002K specs and he told me that he couldn't guarantee any of Hooker products working on the heads. He told me to go with whatever Blueprint recommended. I ended up ordering CC10BP-158 headers from Sanderson. They claim to be built for our trucks and the H8002K heads. I guess I will find out in a week or so when they arrive. I would like to know if your 2452-3 headers work, if you don't mind posting here after you fit them. *Side note: I ordered a BP 355 from Summit. However, the dyno sheet I got in the crate showed specs for a 383. I called BP for clarification and there was some mix-up on their end with part numbers and that landed me the 383. Quote:

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the Accel shorty plugs and they didn't work. They really weren't that much shorter than the NGK-7928 that I am using. I am not sure any length plug would have worked. I was pretty frustrated once I got the shorty plugs anyway. I figured that if I was going to have to make some concessions with the manifolds I should just go ahead and look for headers. The Sanderson headers that I ordered were twice the price of the Hooker manifolds but hopefully, I will not have to do anything special to run them. Quote:

Re: Headers for BP-H8002K
Longshot67 , I opened my box and tried to put the header on with out pulling the pallet all apart (the motor is in my house) so I need to get it back out! But it looks like 8,7 will be tight on heat! But hooker 2453 should work! I don’t known what type of plugs they used with out taken them out. Tried loading pics but cant on my phone. The price for the 3 headers made me look for some other header, I got mine from jegs and they were blemishes ones at half the cost with shipping rub marks on them. No real problem for me back in the day we would have to dent them some times to make fit.

HoneyBeeMan68, good to know. I might have to go in the same direction if the Sanderson headers don't work out for me.

Longshot67, when I was looking at the manifold there was no markings on it so someone made it for them I guess.
