you could try a current draw test and see what it draws for each cycle. down has the weight of the window plus gravity to help it. up is opposite of that so usually it shows a poor connection, poor ground, poor relay or poor motor in the up position. usually, in the great white north, the emergency repair is done on a cold day when the owner of the car rolled the window down at the drive through or the parkade entrance and then it becomes my emergency to drop everything and come runnin. haha.
