Re: Painting the A/C box
While not a AC box, I painted my heater box with a flat black, might have been a can of the underhood black from like SEM I cant recall. Looks good to this day.

Re: Painting the A/C box
I'd rough it up and lay in a patch of fiberglass on the inside. Then fill the outside with resin and smooth it out to look pretty and then paint it. You can remove that section of the box without disturbing anything other than removing the vacuum cannister

Looks good flat black and the truck is the same color as mine.

Re: Painting the A/C box
Painted mine with Krylon RT9203 semi flat black. Put a new Harrison sticker on it. Slight sheen to it. In fact I repainted everything black that was factory with the same paint when I had the engine out. Including the inner fenders when removed.

Re: Painting the A/C box
If you want to maintain factory appearance, it will be difficult to repair that so it is like it never happened. I would replace that half.

Re: Painting the A/C box
I have one to replace it but it doesn't match so I will have to paint it.

Re: Painting the A/C box
Might get away with a similar shade of Zolatone, or one of their imitations.

Re: Painting the A/C box
For a factory look, if not damaged sand surface down to 400 or higher and apply satin clear.

Re: Painting the A/C box
I lightly sanded mine that had been painted black. I then dusted it with Napa Primer Grey for a near factory look. Anyway, I like it!
