TPI conversion has anyone done it?
I am giving some serious thought about this conversion. I am wondering some specifics of your engine cam heads and any other. Are you happy you did it? Did you use MAF or MAP (speed density)? Any computer modifications?
This sounds good in theory just wanted some feed back Thanks

What a coincidence. I'm from Fordland originally. Far from there now. I put a Tuned port in mine. Went with the map and speed density setup. Its a real easy swap, I did it all myself. Only bad thing is it was a little pricey. I do love the power, response and looks of it though. I'm not as happy with the gas mileage, but I am getting a custom chip to help compensate for that. Hardest part was the fuel system. Getting plumbing done that is. Other than that, I would say go for it. Good luck, Jeff.

Check with these folks - they originally got started building wiring harnesses for tune-port conversions and went from there. They're just about 2 hours from me - I got all my brackets, pulleys, and etc from this place.

Im smack dab in the middle of doing a 350 TPI swap in my 68.
I took all the goodies out of a 88 IROC-Z to do the swap. The engine, trans,PCM,etc. The Speed Density (MAP) is a easy swap as you dont have to run a air box of any kind and you can just buy a K&N filter to go on the end of the throttle body. But dont rule out the mass airflow!!! They both have a strong and week point but the mass airflow is far less sensitive to cam changes and you can get buy with a more radical cam,etc before the engine sets a code. Crane,Comp,SLP,and TPIS all make a large amount of computer controled cams for these engines and you should get one that works best for you. But as I said they both work well and whatever you can find at the local yards should work fine. I have ran quite a few of these engines in camaros but this is the first one I have swaped. As someone said before the fuel lines/pump is the hardest part of the swap. Im not sure yet if Im going to use my stock tank and run a inline pump or if Im going to get a tank out of another car/truck yet. I have to still check the fuel injected trucks at the local yard and see what I can find.

I will be doing the same thing on my next suburban. I luckily know somebody that does this swap for a living. I think I am going to give him my bare rolling frame with the engine and tranny sitting in it and let him do the work.
