mustang II front suspension

Can you fit a mustang II front suspension in on of our trucks? Mine is a 68 half ton ,if so how much work is involved? Any comments are welcome

Yes, there are folks who sell Mustang II front crossmembers for these trucks.

I've built several street rods with Fatman Fabrications front MII crossmembers and have always been very happy with their products.

how

How many mod's do you have to do to these ie.widen , bolting up? any info would be helpfull.

Depends on the "stage" of the kit with the Fatman set up. I used the stage 3 which gives you polished, tubular A-arms and coil overs. The cross members are bolt in. The only welding necessary is to weld a gusseted (sp) spacer to the cross member for the lower A-arms. I'm not sure if this needs done on the stage 1 or 2 kits. The stage 4 kit is the airbags and I'm not sure about any welding on that one either. You get other options on things such as the rack (power/manual), brakes (stock GM or aftermarket), and 5 on 4 3/4 or 4 1/2 rotors, etc. It's good for 5" of drop and if you want more you can get dropped spindles. One thing I definately like is that all the parts used are off the shelf items. If you need a ball joint, wheel bearing, whatever, you can get it no problem. All the parts came from various cars but all are off the shelf. Ed at MOTHERTRUCKERS is a authorized dealer for Fatman Fabrications. Here is a pick of my setup from Scott's Hot Rods (which I would nto recomend) Fatman has setups, so dosnt TCI, and a few others as well, anything from bolt in to weld in setups. Also note that the mustang rack & Pinion needs a regulator of sort to cut down the pressure of the Power Steering pump, the Thunderbird does not. The one main thing I dont like with using the Rack & Pinion setup is the steering column to R&P hookup, now some of the others may not be as bad as mine but if you look at the picture here and look at where the stearing column is to where it has to go for the steering rack. Also note that you will drop about 200lbs out of the frontend if get rid of the clunky stock setup. Also note that no one sells 6 lug rotors for these after market IFS setups so if you want all your lug patterns to be the same you will have to redrill or replace the rear axles.
