90 Suburban Project 700R4 Trouble

Fellow gear heads,

Here is my problem: As some of you know I am trying to finish up the 90 Suburban Project. I droped in a new tranny with a 383 Stroker to turn it. I have about 1,200 miles on the tranny and now it wont come out of first gear. I have reverse and I can start it in first, second, third or Over Drive and when I try to mannualy shift it, it wont shift down. When I start out in OD and get going down the road it will not shift out of first. I was thinking it could be the Governor Gear which I have been told could cause this problem. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Thanks,

The one thing I hear everybody say about the 700R4 is to make sure the TV cable is adjusted correctly.

This link has some information on TV cables, that's the only one I could find right off hand. I'm sure somebody will post more.

In case you're still having trouble, or just for future reference, here's another really good link.
