What carb do I have?
1960 half ton with a 235. It’s gonna be a few days before I can clean it up enough to try to see any markings. I assume it’s the Rochester single barrel, but which model? It has manual choke, so is it a D? I got the old girl running the other day by pouring gas in the carb but it doesn’t seem to be pulling fuel from the bowl despite being full. So I’d like to rebuild it but want to order the right kit. Who makes the best rebuild kit?
Thanks! |

Re: What carb do I have?
Hmm how do I attach a pic? I’m not seeing a way to attach one and the method described in the FAQ I don’t understand. Mods? Little help please!

Below the message square look for ‘go advanced’.
Click on it and look for ‘manage attachments’. Open that and easy to find upload pics. |

Re: What carb do I have?
Geezer you’re a genius.
Well, there’s a data plate on the carb but you can see it’s been bashed pretty good. The good news is all the grime is holding the gas in, the bad news is it doesn’t work 😬

Looks like a Rochester model B.
Look on this link. Mike is the one to talk to on there. https://www.carburetor-parts.com/roc...arburetor-kits |

Re: What carb do I have?
Right on geezer, thanks! I think I’ll call mikes on Monday. I believe I watched a rebuild vid on YouTube that he did. Now I’m gonna get my carb soaking.

Re: What carb do I have?
You are lucky it still has the brass tag on it. Get the # off the tag under one of the air horn screws. Any parts man should be able to order a kit for it according to that #.
You might want to get a valve cover gasket at the same time. George |

Re: What carb do I have?
Lol George I know, there is a barrel of oil on the manifolds.
I ordered carb kit from mikes today, I was able to straighten the brass tag and see the number. I opened up the carb today and it looks like WW3 in there. Got everything soaking in gas with a dash of oil and WD40.
