Do I have to lift the front end for the front bars?
Is it just to get clearance?

My truck rides high and I can reach everything without jacking it up, but want to know if it’s critical.

No sir. What that post is referring to is that I removed all of the front sway bar and frame brackets from a mid '80s 2500 square body truck and installed it onto my '68 C10. World of difference for a whopping $25.

The original rivets on the frame brackets can be a booger to get out if you don't have a grinder to cut the heads off with. Most salvage yards won't let you use anything that can produce sparks. Much easier to grind them off, but they wouldn't let me use the grinder so I had to drill the rivets out doubling the 20 minutes it usually takes to get the bar and brackets off. This last bar I removed had a good set of Energy Suspension bar mounts and bushings installed on it. BONUS

Thanks for your pictures and help.

Got them installed a few days ago and almost burned out my drill going through all that steel, but finally had a chance to take it for a quick spin today and I can definitely feel the difference.
