front shocks
Well, its time to replace my front shocks - they leak.
I did remove the knee action shocks and replaced them with tube shocks and mounts off of a '50 A.D. Other than that, the front suspension is stock. Unfortunately, the shocks are so corroded I cant read a part number. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: front shocks
worst case scenario get dimensions between mounts and the type of mounts on each end and then go to the monroe site and check the spec sheets. if the old ones were fine for fitment then extend one fully and measure then retract it fully and measure then get dimensions for the mounting type and go online to look. I would say go to the local parts store but that would be an exercise in frustration. post up what you get for dimensions, along with some pics, and maybe we can help you out.

Re: front shocks
It's great when you can find an old school parts store. I've been dealing with the Napa store in Union Gap WA so last week I went in to talk about some shocks for my pickup. Tina pulled out an old parts book, looked up the part # & said she could have them in 2 days. Sure enough they arrived on time & were an exact fit. So no more front end bounce.

Re: front shocks
ok, so the shocks were not the problem. the oil on the shocks was a leak was from the front seal on the intake manifold. So that repair starts tuesday. The bounce and rough ride was caused by a broken top leaf in the left front spring. Fixed that with an extra spring I had laying around.
Oh well, I dont claim to know everything.
