I'm pretty sure it was my vote that took it over the top to get the win, so I figure I'm due a ride in Brutus. LOL You really had some tough competition too. Congrats!!

Drove Brutus to work yesterday. It's been beautiful here lately, so I had to take it out and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts. The wife took him to work today. I'm a little sad I didn't get to drive the truck again, but I'm glad the wife likes driving it.

Truck of the year voting is active right now, until December 31st. Go vote. I did, and NO, I did NOT vote for my own truck. I'm not suggesting anyone vote for my truck either. But please go show some love for the awesome trucks that are up for truck of the year.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Duane, can I trouble you for a bit of info, or optimally, a picture or two? I’m trying to determine if on the DD low a/c bracket, the tensioner hangs below the balancer, and if so by how much. Clearances are tight in that area with the dropmember...

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

It's a bit tight in there to get a good clean picture of what you're asking about, but here's a look from the top.

It's hard to see, but here's a shot close up (my phone couldn't get any further away and still be able to see it). It's actually above the bottom of the crank pulley by an inch or two. It appears to be no more than two inches though.

This one kind of shows how much higher it is, granted, there's no belt in it yet, so the tensioner sits lower...

I can try a different angle if it helps, but I'm not sure if it will be much better than this. Let me know if you want something else and I'll try and get a photo.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Dude, you rock! Picture #2 and associated description is exactly what I needed, as the steering rack and hard lines sit in this exact area.

Do you have any comments on quality of the piece? I’ve read where some people were not happy with it, but not much info out there...

Thanks a ton!

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

I don't have any issues with it now that it's on and running. Quality or otherwise. It does the job and hasn't made me notice anything yet *knock on wood*, so it seems to be working great!

My only issue was the belt supplied was pretty tight. It's not a stretch belt like the factory, but I couldn't slip it over the crank pulley and compressor with the compressor mounted. I had to pull the compressor off, put the belt on, then bolt on the compressor. I may be able to use a slightly longer belt, but I didn't want it to be too loose. And since I don't own one of those fancy tools made specifically for the stretch belt application, I just unbolted the compressor to install the belt.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

It's been a while since I've posted. Been driving around as often as weather will permit (I hate having to polish water spots out of aluminum). I went to a show back in March and was spotted by the shows photographer...

(the bad paint work really shows in this pic) Looks like I should put the paint on a higher priority if I'm going to continue taking it to shows.

But, that's why I take pics from the drivers side... Here's one I took at the same show.

And a few more from this past weekend after getting it all cleaned up and the wheels polished.
