transfer case ?? experts help!!
I am new to the 4x4 scene. I recently got a 72 K20. The last few times I put it in 4 low, the transfer case shifter sticks. I have to straddle it and jerk as hard as I can with both hands to get it out of 4 low. I'm afraid I'm going to break something. What's going on?? Thanks for any help.

Another thought for you if the above doesnt work..... If it is a NP 203 case, the shift linkage comes loose an makes it a PITA to shift or get into/out of a gear. You might crawl underneath and check to see that the linkage is properly adjusted/tightened and is on the case correctly....

A 203 shouldn't be in a '72, but it might be the bushing in the actual transfer case to transmission adapter, that the lever fits into. they tend to go bad after being 33 years old and not being replaced.

A guy might want to check the level of lube in the case,too.......make sure you've got plenty.
 (happened to me once)

The linkages have a plastic/nylon bushing that goes bad sometimes. I have found those in the help section and they actually had some from B&M in the hot rods stuff at PepBoys when I needed one.
