Valve cover clearance
I am about ready to put the cab back on to my chassis. Anyone know if I will have a problem with clearance with these tall valve covers and the firewall? 66 with a sbc

My 62 has no problem with clearance with tall valve covers on my small block.

I could not use tall valve covers on my 1963 Chevrolet C10. The passenger side hit the firewall. One factor could be that I have AFR Aluminum heads which have a 3/4" deck and are taller then a stock cylinder head. I would pull the covers for the cab install.

Not that this makes a difference for your particular installation, but on my LS install, I made sure I could actually pull the heads off without having to pull the motor. I'd do the same in your case - just make sure it is actually "serviceable."

Good idea. Once I have the cab in place I will make sure I have enough clearance to pull it apart. I do have a build thread but am embarrassed about it. I started this build years ago and than let it sit. Now I have retired and am determined to get the truck completed.
