I would not utilize 1/4" spacers on OE 6-lug studs. If they're replaced w/something longer & stronger, sure.
Check w/Wheel Vintiques. If you order directly from them, you can (could @ one point in time) select the back-spacing dimension within a select range per size of the wheel @ an added cost. I have 16x6 & 16x8" 8-lug 62-series 'OE' steel wheels on one of my trucks. Both sizes I spec'd my back spacing. The caveat is if you order & pay for 'custom' back-spacing, the wheels are yours & not returnable so your math needs to be on-point.
