May not be any quieter than what you have now . New mufflers are made to go with cats which quiet down the exhaust by quite a bit . I had to take a cat off my 87 Suburban and put a straight pipe in its place to the muffler cat was plugged the truck had a completely stock exhaust. Man was it loud until I put a replacement on
