That's what the diodes are for that HB provides. But I guess you found another way to do it?

No I used the diodes and still had the issue. I was wondering why that didn’t work. I just eliminated the bridged ground and I think that solved the problem. Edit - I see I installed them wrong now. Oh well not a big deal. I might fix them later.

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

Fixed the wiring. Now it works as it should.
I trimmed my inner fenders. Used an air body saw. Came out pretty good. I just need some touch up paint and see if they clear.

Looks good. I dont have access to an air saw so i'll have to finesse it with my grinder/cut off wheel and maybe use a drill bit to radius the corners.

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

Highly recommend the air saw if you can buy one but the cut off wheel and grinder will work. Its hidden so it doesn’t have to be pretty.

How much did the amp steps cost? Looking at buying the HB brackets but want to know what my all-in parts cost is gonna be. Don't need part number just price. Thanks

Man I'm lost on this wiring .....my worst enemy is wiring ...

I'm not sure I understand what I need to do - my installer just put them on a rocker switch as shown but obviously I need to correct this so they function properly.

I have door ground switches installed in each door

I am using the power window fuse (20 amp) as the main power to the AMP box - I'm not sure what to do with the purple wires and the instructions didn't help this guy ...!!

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

Are these the diodes that are needed ?? If so how do they connect to the door ground wire?

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

I ordered diodes and relays - everything should be here tomorrow - still would like confirmation that the above instructions are correct....

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

Wired them up without the diodes and relays - everything works as it should .... I even was able to finally wire in the single wall dome lights to function off the driver door switch

Wanted to ask, do both steps come down if either door is opened? FWIU correct install of diodes should make only the side door is opened on actuate. Was wondering what the relays were for if the controller was used?

Re: Amp Research Powerstep

Only the door that is open has the step come down.....

No relays or diodes used in my wiring ( other than I used a relay for the dome switches but not sure if it was necessary ?

Cool. You just connected the trigger wire on each side near each door switch?

Thank you for the response. I will try connecting my steps without the diodes first.
