Seat belt rattle help

My 72 seat belt buckles rattle like heck when nobody is using them. I of course wear mine and it doesn't rattle while wearing. It doesn't take much of a jolt to make them rattle. I know what's rattling it's the roller. (not really a roller because it doesn't move.) Guess you would call it the tensioner. I opened two buckles and both with floppy tensioner. Anyone know of a fix. These are original lap belts and the push buttons and springs are fine.

Rattled while latched laying on the seat. Took the covers off to take a peek. There was a little dried glue under each cover. Since it's caused by the tensioner flopping around I assumed maybe foam was used in that spot. Used 1/2 inch foam tape cut to size. Too thick. Have some 1/8 x 2 inch foam tape. Cut to size. One not enough. Put one on top of the other and it works great. This isn't my truck, but it shows the size of the foam needed. You can see the glue after the foam is deteriorated. Second is a link how to remove the covers without breaking. I used dense foam tape. I don't think the cheap stuff would hold up.

The foam, 99% of the time has already deteriorated away when I remove the buckle covers. If it is still present, it will turn to dust once it’s touched. I never replace the foam because in my opinion it will not stay put just like these never did. I found replacing the foam would only add too much resistance in being able to adjust the strap.

As for the rattle, I have found several things that are causing the rattle. That small metal piece that is at the very top of the buckle. I have found quite a few that don’t fit tight, so I keep trying other bars until one does fit tight. If not, I replace the buckle cover. Or the buckle cover has a broken tab and that make the buckle cover itself loose & rattle.

Another is the spring for the emblem is loose. And then I have found where the plunger has a piece of metal that has broken off and it’s in there rattling around. But if that or anything else gets lodged in the right place it can cause the plunger not to work at all.
The one in the picture that is circled at the top, is one where a piece of the plunger broke off and is laying inside.
