68 C10 brake booster to master cylinder rod to short

I believe that the rod from the brake booster to the master cylinder is too short. Does anyone know what its correct name is and where I could pick one up?

Thanks!

sorry, that was a little broad, the Right Stuff R04 and R05 are examples of the kind o' thing you're looking for, you might find them from whoever made your booster too. Typically the booster comes with both, but sometimes you're left scrambling for a "gawd@mm1t"

I bought this from summit (rsd-r05) after finding that my replacement MC was the deep variety where as my original one was shallow. When I got back to the shop I found its diameter was slightly too large to fit into my booster. I chucked the thing into a drill and using some heavy grit sand paper turned it down enough that it would fit! Then smoothed it out with 220 grit and she's working fine now.

YMMV

EDIT: Only had to turn down the part that goes into the booster, not the whole thing. I don't think the o-ring does anything other than keep it from rattling around in the bore...I had to use a slightly smaller o-ring after turning that end of the pushrod as the one came with it was too large to fit into the booster.

Thanks for the info. I stumbled across a set at classic industries late last night and placed the order. When I go to pick up the truck I will be bringing my dewalt drill and some sand paper just in case.

Get one of these. The clearance needs to be just right.
