Installed bed today

I had a few buddies come over to help install the bed today. I am so happy with how this build is coming together.

You should be happy. That is looking pretty darn good. I like the white lettered tires.

Re: Installed bed today

Nice looking truck there. It always feels good to put some big pieces on as it makes a dramatic change in the trucks appearance.

By the way, this is the truck before restoration. It has come a long way over the past 6.5 years. :-)

Re: Installed bed today

That white is brite! You'll need to wear sun glasses every time you drive it. An all white truck all trimmed out with nice wheels and white letter tires is one of the classiest trucks of all to me.

Re: Installed bed today

I agree Boog. These trucks look really good in all white. The basecoat is Summit Racing Bright White topped with four coats of SPI Universal Clear. The paint came out amazing for a garage paint job. Here is a pic of my "paint booth".

Re: Installed bed today

I ran across this old post and realized I never posted pics of the finished truck. There are lots of pics on Instagram @hotrod_Marilyn.

Let's see if these links works.

Yes, that is my dad under the hood. This truck started its life as a 1971 GMC. I believe that pic was taken in 1987. I paid $50 for the truck when I was 14 years old. We pieced that truck together over the next 2 years and I drove it through high school. This truck has a lot of sentimental value to me. Below is a link to the truck's life story my wife wrote a couple of years ago.

Re: Installed bed today

.

Oh man your truck is perfect. Love the white, wheels, tires w/lettering and stance. Love to see under hood.

Looking through the pics on insta...I've got some questions:

Are you running spacers front and rear?

What are the wheel sizes and offsets...they look like Coys?

Original rear housing/axles and is it tubbed?

Thank you,

-Kevin

I'm not running spacers and its not tubbed. The wheels are American Legend Streeters. Font wheels are 20x8.5 with 255/40 tires. Rear wheels are 20x10 with 275/40 tires. I believe the wheel offset is 4.5 on the front and 5.5 on the rear. I am running a Ford 9-inch rearend with 3.50 gears purchased from American Powertrain. The engine is a ZZ454 with a 4L80E transmission. Here is a link to a video of the engine.
