Reproduction Single Wall Top

Thought I'd share these photos. Mark at Motor City K5 will soon be taking pre-orders for USA made reproduction single wall tops. Looks like it was a huge effort on his part deserving recognition. Glad to see this as an option.

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

Got to see it first hand in person. Great top. Also made out out of one solid mold not multiple ones glued together. Been dealing with Mark for years now. Great guy putting out great products

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

I saw them at Dino's get together in Glendale,AZ few weeks ago. If I remember correctly, they were around $10k with the new hatch (9k & 1k). I dont think that included any gaskets or glass. looked perfect

Reproduction tops are for sale locally here in Phoenix. I think they are having them made in Mexico though

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

Seems to be back up. I’ll be honest if the top is made in Mexico I would pass for an American made product. Who knows if it will fit and 7k plus shipping is a high risk. I didn’t think to ask these guys where it is made.

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

Anyone order and install the top from Motor City yet? It’s a lot of money so I want to make sure it’s up to par with the original.

Smile Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

Just about everything Motor City makes is as good if not better than original, and the price surely reflects this.

I would be confident that it fits as good or better than an original top.

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

I agree, Mark at Motor City K5 is knowledgeable and great on customer service. Crated and delivered in less than a week. I just this week received my new '72 reproduction rear hatch complete with glass and Steele Rubber seal from them. I assembled some of my inner hardware back in the shell and everything fit and aligned awesome. The smooth fiberglass finish was near perfect and when my original top is ready for finish we will prime and prep new hatch gate and then do the spatter finish and paint process on both pieces. I'm very happy with it and will make a major upgrade for saving my single wall original roof too.

Re: Reproduction Single Wall Top

Nice. I was wondering on the hatch. I just don’t have time to restore my tops nor find anyone trust worthy to do the work. I figure I can sell them both and buy a ready to go top and not worry about it.

How hard would it be to switch from double wall to single wall top?
