Assembling a new wood floor bed, have a question....

I have seen a book in a few parts catalogs, looks like a GM booklet titled "Bed Installation Book". Does this book deal with assembling a new wood floor bed? I am building a new bed from all new parts, and could use any help I can find for assembly instructions.

Thanks!

If it is the book that is around the $4 range, it is useless IMO. I got one and all I learned is when they started installing them, what type of wood was used, what they were treated with, etc....nothing like "install this board last and it will be easier", or "the grooves are this dimension by that dimension". It deals with mostly historical facts more aimed at the die-hard restorer. That is just my opinion. I wish I had saved that $4 for a burger combo.

Between the people on this board, and the help of GMC paul's site( http://www.gmcpauls.com/47-72%20BedWood%20Info.htm ) you should have all the info you need.

Like everything else about restoration, prep is very thing.
If you got a new kit the wood needs to be sealed and painted or stained.GMC Pauls has great info.
The boards are easy to assemble. Look at outer edges there bolted to sides and at bottom of wheel housings. The rest of boards are floating and secured by the metal strips.
Are you installing them in your Long Fleet as in your Avatar pic?
