Sierra vs Sierra Grande badging

Just curious why this truck has Sierra vs Sierra Grande badging on the bed. It was not changed. I have what appears to be the original badges. Had 2 sided tape and the holes in the bed have not been changed matching the Sierra badge. But the SPID says Z84 Sierra Grande. It seems like they were copying a Highlander package in Ochre on a GMC truck but the badging is confusing to me.
Any thoughts why the lesser badge on what appears to be a Grande truck?

Re: Sierra vs Sierra Grande badging

The RPO code drives the trim level rather than the sometimes odd descriptions. So it is indeed a Sierra (Z84) only, not a Sierra Grande, and the current bed badging is correct. A true 72 Sierra Grande would have the same RPO as a Cheyenne Super (YE9). This has been seen on a few Cheyenne SPIDs on occasion where someone got a little typewriter happy and threw a stray “super” in the description - or in some cases it was plant interpretation of naming convention, but in all cases, the three digit RPO code was the over-arching designation of true trim level. The most common occurrence Z84 Cheyenne Supers that I’ve seen were from Oshawa.
