Another lift/tire question

Would 8" be enough to clear 40x13.5x17 MTR's on 17x8 rims on a 71 swb 4x4?

id pm mac67 from this board to ask him, he has an 8` lift in his blazer i think he has 39.5`s on it now but don`t know if it would fit bigger ones.

Yes I would think that they would fit. They are pretty narrow.

i think the tallest you could go with a 8 inch lift is 38 and possiably 39's. you still might have to trim a little.

If they are true 40's I will say no. My 9 inch BARELY works with my 38.2's. Either more lift (say 11-12 inches) or start cutting.

Dep dog at Pirate clears 39.5's with 4 inch springs (probalby more like 5 inches of actuall lift.

I and 3.75 over stock on my front and I clear 35's and still have totaly unmolested inner fenders. I did cut out fenders back to the inner fender. I also moved the front axle forward 1 inch and a 1 inch body lift. NO SCRUB and it ramps 839 on a 30degree ramp.
