Need a pic of rear bumper brackets at the frame rail

I have a 1971 Chevy Long/Fleet. It originally came with one of those 200 pound industrial bumpers....Installing the stock chrome one and the holes are not matching up with the frame rails. Before I make an assumption and start drilling, I figured I better ask you all for a photo.

Thanks

If you have the new mounting brackets with your new bumper they should mount without any drilling.Mine did.

Re: Need a pic of rear bumper brackets at the frame rail

i went through the same swap, and with new bumper and brackets from lmc truck. the holes didn't quite line up for a perfect alignment so i drilled the brackets out a little.

i'm at school now, i'll post pics when i get home in a few hours

I had the same problem with my truck. I NEVER would have guessed the brackets bolted to the frame "crooked." Pics can be priceless at times

The pictures were priceless. It has been so long since I have a rear bumper...just did not picture it going on at an angle.

LMC has a great diagram of how they should go as well.

Re: Need a pic of rear bumper brackets at the frame rail

The LMC diagram shows the brackets going on parallel with the frame, not angled downwards. Everyone I've seen in actual practice though mounts theirs angled down. Interesting.
