I'm thinking that the rod is not supposed to have that bend in it. Both of them that are on cabs I have are straight in that area but one is bent from being banged around for the past 30 years that I have had that cab.

It has an auto choke carb on it so someone changed out the carb at one point. I think they just bent and cut things to make it fit. I'm going to try straightening it a little at a time until it clears then see if I have full throttle travel. I may need to cut a section out of the middle to shorten it when I straighten it it might make it too long.
