Yeah some plastic plugs will work for that.

You can even get some that be close to body color.

A little bit of glue/silicone to hold them in and your done.

I used Christmas tree type push in clips to plug the old mirror holes

Lowes has an automotive section with various plugs in the hardware aisle with various metal and wood screws, a little touch up paint and you're good to go.
