Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
Thinking about getting one of these Dakota Digital RTX Stock look gauges. Wondering if any one has installed one as I'm looking for real world comments on it function and reliability. My truck has factory A/C so wondering about fitment issues for the control box behind the dash as not lots of room with the A/C vent hose running behind the dash. I've never heard a bad word about Dakota Digital stuff.

Re: Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
Am using a bit of Dakota Digital components in my truck to get gauges to work properly. I would love to just buy a replacement gauge panel from someone that will work with a newer motor. For the price they want, I cannot get past a clock or warning lights that are put where the tach should go. I do not care about a clock, These trucks never had them. I have many sources for time and not really needed. Why is it front and center?

Re: Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
I modified the S10 speedo from "Ls1 nova " in my cluster. Works well. I would buy simular finished product if available. Not into the digital or the price. There's probably enough room to mount all of it with a/c

Re: Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
Thanks for the responses/opinions/thoughts but I just want to know if someone is using one and how its working for them. Personally with the 700R4 in my truck I would prefer a transmission Temp Gauge in lieu of a clock but no one makes one with a trans temp gauge.

Re: Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
Why not use a tach adaptor to modify signal from ecu for your tach and Dakoda speedo. Every thing else can be connected pretty much as normal.

I am looking to use a boost gage and wideband gage, these are able to display only as a number in that area. I know there are options for the dakota digital that opens up a lot of possibilities however you gotta pay... Dave

Re: Dakota Digital Classic Stock Look Gauges
I am running the RTX gauges in my two 1972 Blazers both with AC. The 4 X 4 I am using all the Dakota Digital sending units including the speed sensor that screws into the speedo cable location. I had no trouble with the AC hose in this one. You have to be careful as the way the cables come out the back of the gauges they can be damaged.
On my two wheel drive I am using a few of the modules that take up lots of the space behind the cluster leaving little to no room for the AC ducting. We ended up making a bracket that uses the bolt that goes through the firewall (into the wiper tray iirc). That places all the modules behind the steering column freeing up space for the AC ducting. There are two reasons that I went with the RTX gauges. One is how well lit up it is at night. I could never get my stock gauges so I could see them enough while driving at night. These gauges light up like a modern vehicle. The other reason was I have an LS3 in the two wheel drive and it was easy to integrate the gauges through their modules to that gauge cluster. I have no complaints. I install connectors between the modules, and the vehicle wiring in case I ever had to re-move a module for replacement.
