vanishing receipts

Have any of you noticed item skus and prices disappearing from your receipts lately? I have noticed this on Lowe's receipts and O'Reillys receipts. The header store name remains but everything under that fades away. I first thought it was from exposure to light causing the print to disappear, but it also happens to receipts put away in a drawer, etc. But why wouldn't all the print disappear? And why? This happens within a few months.

Re: vanishing receipts

Thermal printers do this. Not sure why only the logo remains. Anything we buy that has a warranty and has the receipt printed via thermal printer gets a photocopy made of it while it's still fresh.

If you use a card you don’t need a receipt. The logo is usually bolder than the items on the receipt so it lasts longer but not indefinitely . I’ve found receipts years old in the glove box and it’s just paper no printing on them at all . If I need a receipt for warranty (not needed if you register the item ) I will make a digital copy like you

Walmart is the worst..if it's something where I need it for warranty, I make a copy of it..
