First Outing Driveway Paint

The doors where dented and previous mirror strike damage chipping off. The bed rails were severely damaged from a tool box that was probably used for wet suits. The rails were gone from just after the front corner to about the filler holes. I used an old hood I had damaged last year for sheet metal and worked it in butt joining to get the sheet metal back to acceptable. I had never done this type of work. I took my time and the result is very good. Even looking for the seems I can not fine any signs of previous damage. Not bad for a first timer.
I left the tailgate lip damage and did not paint the bed. This is a driver and I throw a lot of rock and grove material in it throughout the year. Not the original dealer(?) sticker. I worked around that area to preserve. Not entirely sure why.

And an inside shot
I think I will prefer a 15" factory look saddle wheel. This one is too bright.
I gave up on the Faux wood 72 inserts. My art work was not up to snuff. But I kind of like the dyed factory panel section. The Factory insert will cover if anyone wants to bring back to original.

Looking good! When I saw "First Outing" I was expecting to see pics of rock chips. Good, no chips.

I like that just great! I would like to see you post the details of all the products and tools you used. If you have any pictures of the butt joining sheet metal work and prep that would also be fun to see.

Re: First Outing Driveway Paint

With how expensive body shop paint jobs are these days, that’s outstanding!
