Re: 1984 K20 project

Changed out all driveline fluids with synthetic . All the old fluids were really clean. Couple little odds and ends to fix yet in engine bay and hopefully will get it inspected this week and on the road. I went for a few shorts drives and all is working good .
Couple before and after pics. Interior was the most of the work and $$ rest of truck wasn’t that bad mechanically just lots of little odds and ends to fix.

Re: 1984 K20 project

I should have told you that I could have restored your seatbelts for you while you had them out. I even clean all the mechanisms under the retractor housings and repair anything I find that needs fixed. Sometimes the counterbalances are broken, so those need replaced. Besides making them look nice again, I get them functioning like they should. I’ve actually been working on a couple of Blue sets for people this past week. Here’s the typical problem items.
I could have gotten that faded section looking a lot better also.

Everything you have done on the truck looks great!

Huge difference! It’s amazing how a little attention can bring these trucks back to life again. Great job on the vent windows too! Those are not the easiest things to do. That’s one job I let the pros handle on mine.

Thx. Ya its mainly cosmetics on this one. I did have to fix alot of small mechanical items from years of neglect or band-aid fixes that were on the truck. Whats really nice is these trucks are plentyful in the junk yards and marketplace is full of parts for these. It was a real nice platform to start with compared to earlier gens ive built. The vent seals arent that bad to install , took me maybe an hour per window. Lots of windex and patience and they will slide into place
