I have a 68 chevy how do the aftermarket hoods fit? I thought about adding a new cowl hood but didnt want to get into a bunch of fitup?

With fiberglass hoods you're always going to have to go thru with fitting and cutting a little.

i bought one for my 72 blazer,from tim christan, and it fit great, didn`t take no time to get it to fit right.

We put a Tri-Plus cowl hood on my bro's 69, fit pretty darn good. Very slight mismatch on fender/hood curvature but you gotta look hard & be REAL anal to notice. Only a cherry or NOS GM hood would fit better IMO. Brian

We put this one on my old 72 after I sold it to my neighbor.

It fit a little flat across the cowl area. He put a 1x4 block of wood on the cowl and gently closed the hood down onto it. That put a tiny bit of curve in the back and now it fits fine.

It's a Tri-Plus hood. After a couple of years with it, he's still happy with it and put another one like it on his other truck.

i have been told the goodmark and the tri-plus are the same hoods in different boxes...

I Installed A Metal Cowl On My K5 70. It Fit Great From The First. Just Adjusted The New Hinges And Have Had No Problems. We Found With The Old Hinges It Wouldn't Fit Quite Right But No Problem With The New Ones.

I have a 67-68 Goodmark cowl hood that won't fit well with my oringinal 68 fenders. Would I get a better fit if I bought the Goodmark fenders also? BTW the fenders are off of a 71 GMC which has the same fenders as a 68 Chev I understand, they look the same anyway.

Here's a guy selling Goodmark cowls on ebay - not me. He's a distributor for hoods, doors, fenders..etc etc. I haven't checked websites for these things so I don't know if his prices are good or bad.

This is a Goodmark hood on my '72 and it fit fine. The tooling appears to be made wrong since the front edge about 6" on both sides of center flattens out instead of continuing the correct contour all the way across like the stock hood. Had to work the contour back in that area and fix a couple of shipping boo-boos. Overall, a great hood IMO.

Putter, that is not a shade tree method..........Stuff like that is done in bodyshops everywhere. Body alignment takes some creative action.......the factory boys do the same stuff, tweeking doors, hoods and deck lids is everyday stuff.
