mother ******, vent post

My truck got broken into AGAIN. This time it was the 79. They went threw the rear sliding window. They went for the 5 channel amp first, and apperently thats when the alarm went off and they just ripped it off the mounts and ran away, not before they also took my keychain with a $150 swiss army knife on it....f'ers missed the .25auto, $500 worth of cd's and the rest of the system thank god. Im putting a solid rear window in ASAP, and I HIGHLY recommend everyone else does too, this is the second time they've gone threw the rear window. Im shaking so bad right now with anger....

I'd rather have thieves bust the latch on my slider than break any of the glass on my truck...then you got a whole new set of problems to deal with.

But, that sucks. Sorry to hear it happened

True; but a broken window sets off the alarm right away. I have replaced 2 wing windows and would rather do that than replace all of the audio equipt. and things in my truck.

TOM just out of curiousity was your truck at home? I feel for you man I've been there and it sucks.

I'm Tuffy boxing my Burb when I get ahead. I have a underbed box bolted to the floor of my 75 jimmy. It runs no hard top 9 months of the year. I havent' even had the windows in that thing in two month. Just tarp it when I park. I never leave anything in that truck I cant part with. Honda is the same way. just a couple of CDs and the head unit are the only thing of real value.

Run one 500kv taser terminal to a good ground on your truck and another (stealthily hidden of course) in between the sliders so that they stick something in there to break the slider and end up getting a shocking suprise...

This was at work, in plain sight, around 12pm today. These guys had huge brass balls to pull this stunt. Thank god I didn't come back from one of my runs and find them doing it or else I'd be in jail right now with a murder charge. They already tried using my credit cards [yeah I relized they took my wallet too, along with my SS card]

Im going to go shoot some guns now.....

yeah i never keep more than half a dozen CDs, some odd change, and an umbrella and tools hidden behind the seat. And you can be sure when i get that PowerAccoustik LT480 amp in Nov. that baby is going under the seat with all the wires under the floor mat. And i lock my doors. and lock the steering column.

That sucks.

Can you believe someone broke into my truck to steal this cassette player? They were only successful at bending the face to a 45 degree angle to the dash. I could see the circuit board and all of the internal wiring.

They eventually gave up, and took about 75 cents in sticky change that my wife had spilled Coke on in the console. I had a rebuilt compressor on the floor, with the receipt in the box, but they left it. They didn't even take the tools that were behind the seat. Thieving idiot...

BTW, the piece of crap is still in the truck, still works, and still sounds terrible.

Man, stuff like this really pisses me off, my truck or anyone elses. It just wouldn't do for me to catch someone breaking into my truck. I can put up with a lot of things but thieves are one thing I simply can't stand. I hate them with a passion. Somebody that takes what someone else has worked hard for is lower than whale sh!t in my book.

I feel for you man...I had a set of Holley 660 Center Squirters in the floor of my 68...and while I was living in Tampa and the truck was parked by the alley, someone got into my truck and stole them. Still not sure how they did it, nothing was broken, and the truck was locked..... I live in a town of 1300 people, and an almost 0% crime-rate too..... I'm still really pissed about it.....

My friend put a 400 dollar clifford alarm system on his 87 Z28 which had a nice HU and subs and amp in plain view. He installed one of those microwave sensors so that he could leave the t-tops off for quick trips into the store or whatever, you can't even get close to reaching in and unlocking the doors or anything and the alarm goes off and pages the key fob. The alarms with the paging systems are the way to go in my opinion, otherwise they may just prove to be useless.

Also having it so that they can't simply snip a wire to disarm it is a good idea.

I pity the fool who trys to steal any of my crap, their in for it.
