Before and after

Put the new shoes on the 68 . It’s got 3 inch drop springs in front and 4 in back . I’m going to do the front disc brake conversion (already have everything) with 2 1/2 drop spindles . I also bought 2 inch drop springs for the front to replace the 3 inchers . But I’m thinking I may leave the 3inch in and have a 5 1/2 in front . I do have a 1 inch drop block kit for the rear too . I guess it’ll be in the weeds when I’m done . Any thoughts on the plan would be appreciated this is the first truck I’ve lowered

Re: Before and after

I guess no opinions. I’ve decided that I don’t like the 245/60 tire in back not tall enough . I’m changing them out to 235/70

Re: Before and after

Truck looks great and so does the new rims. I don’t have any lowering input, good luck I’m sure it will turn out great.

I haven’t done mine, a 72. I have a leaf spring rear, I might just do 2 inch drop spindles in the front and 3 inch blocks in the back.

Re: Before and after

What is the size of your front tires? What is the width and backspacing of the front rims? If the tires are too big and the rims are outboard too much, they may hit the inner fender when you encounter dips in the road if you lower the front 4.5 inches. I had that problem with a 3.5" drop and 255/60R15 tires on 8" rims with 3-7/8" backspacing. The disc brake conversion I installed exacerbated this problem by shifting each wheel outward by 3/4".

15x7 3.75 backspace . Tires are 215/65 . The rims I had on it were 16x8 with 5-1/2 backspace came off my Tacoma tires were 265/70r16 and they never hit and they were real close to the fender lip . The kit I bought supposedly doesn’t add anything to the track width . I bought the CPP kit that uses the original ball joints and tie rods

Should be alright then.
