What is the most sought after truck year ?
Having been a truck guy ( probably owned more than 50) for more years than I care to say….what year truck is the most sought after in your opinion. Not asking what your favorite truck is, I’m asking what you think is the truck that most people want.
I say 1968, the slant hood makes all the difference to me. I know 67 is the same but 68 being the last year of that look is it, in my opinion. What say you ? |

Re: What is the most sought after truck year ?
I am partial to the 68 myself. Big window, slant nose.
But I think it’s second in desirability to the 72. Super trim, more options, attractive grille, and a little less “vintage” look as compared to the 67-68.

72 Cheyenne Super IMHO....and I just point to todays prices.
No matter your particular year they are all very good reps of a wonderful era we still enjoy. |

Re: What is the most sought after truck year ?
72 for me I like the later abundance of options that the earlier trucks didn’t have(Cheyenne super etc.) disk brakes, and I like the wood grain plastic door panels more than the vinyl/metal panels. Ive always liked the 71/72 front end the best as well. The evolutions that the Z84 and later YE9 trucks saw in the life of these trucks was a pretty big leap in creature comforts for the time.

I like the 67-68 front sheet metal, but prefer the 71-72 running gear. The disc brakes make them much nicer.
Actually, I like them all!

Re: What is the most sought after truck year ?
With me it would be the 68 also. I do however like the disc brakes and some of the later model amenities like the tilt and tach. I also like the wig wag front turn signals.

Re: What is the most sought after truck year ?
I'd say the 1971 and 1972 due to front disc brakes.
I like the grills on the earlier models myself but front disc brakes are pretty nice to have. |
