Sorry, On my phone I didn't see the pic detail of the rear axle. That said I would still mark the yoke and pull the shaft to see the amount the yoke is inserted. Frames flex, mounts allow movement, stuff happens, better safe than sorry.
Router the edges, a little foam., soft corners. Done deal.
