Things I found interesting!
I've blasted a few sets of this pivot bushings for the front seats and they all have a copper coating on them. I'm just wondering what that would be for?
I've noticed on 2 sets of seats when I remove the plastic backs the center screw is held on with a nut clip instead of into the frame. At first, I figured someone lost the longer screw and that was their fix to make it look complete. I noticed on this last set I removed the frame doesn't have a screw hole in the frame, so it most have came from the factory that way. I never noticed on the first set if the frame had a screw hole or not. |

Copper clad for corrosion resistance. Same reason TIG rods are copper plated.

Re: Things I found interesting!
I’ll have to share a photo tomorrow, but I unbolted my front crossmember and all of the bolts & nuts have the same copper color on the threads. It’s never been apart and I can’t think they would have used some copper never sieze during build…..but wondered what the heck I was looking at.
I don’t recall my ‘68 Chevy looking that way when I pulled th le crossmember. Just the ‘67 GMC. 🤷*♂️ |
