Taillight Fuel Filler Hose Routing

I'm trying to route the filler hose from my tail light filler to my rear mounted tank.
I have a sniper fuel tank with the filler hole in the top lower left corner. I have both a straight filler neck for the tank and one like the picture. Both are 2" in diameter. I plan on going between the bed and the frame rail the up to the filler in the tail light.
I have thought about reducing down to a 1" filler (as that is the size of the end in the tail light. Then get a long filler hose with a 90 degree end to connect.
My concern is enough slope so all the fuel drains into the tank.

Can anyone who has plumbed a tail light filler to a rear mounted tank give me some advise?

Thanks
Larry

I originally had a 2" set-up, but I could not get the hose to bend tight enough. I had to go to 1.5" diameter. I bought and adapter to go from the 2" to 1.5" from ICT Billet if I recall.

Thanks.
Which neck did you use on the tank and what did you use to connect from there to the filler neck?

Thanks

I am using a Boyd tank and LS Fabrication rear fuel door set-up. I used these hoses:

Do these hoses allow for any bend or are they just for your straight runs?

Also, do you have 2.0" at the tank or at the tail light filler?

Re: Taillight Fuel Filler Hose Routing

Both allow for bends, but the 2" I could not get it to bend enough to go from tail light to the tank. The 1.5" allowed it without too much of an issue, which is why I went that way. The tail light is 1.5". The hose is 1.5", then I have an adapter right near the tank that adapts the 1.5" hose to 2" as the inlet on the tank is 2".

Re: Taillight Fuel Filler Hose Routing

Joyridin- the hose works perfect.
One question- did you connect the hose to the filler fitting in the housing? If so did you clamp it or just slide it on?
Like you stated the hose is 1.5" and the hole is 1.5", so there is no way to get the hose through with s clamp. I'm thinking putting sealer on the fitting the just sliding the hose on and call it good.

Yes, I have a clamp. I used a kit from LS Fabrication. There is room to clamp it. I also hooked up a vent from the tank to the filler neck. It was a bear, but it works good.

Re: Taillight Fuel Filler Hose Routing

Joyridin - How did you hook up the vent line to the filler neck? I have the same setup as you (Boyd side fill tank and LS Fab tail light filler) and doesn't look like you can drill/tap a fitting (since it would protrude inside the filler neck and interfere with a fuel nozzle) and can't weld it (since it's pot metal). I might be wrong, but would appreciate your input. Pics would also be nice but not necessary.
