Wow! Im surprised by the number of 283 and 327 trucks so far! I will add to that list. I replaced the wheezey inline six with a 283 four barrel motor from a 64 impala. It runs great but with the stock three speed with the R-10 overdrive it had to be downshifted on the highway just a bit too often. I found a 327 and put some whoop-ass into it with AFR heads and a roller cam.

We all know thats too much for the saginaw three and r-10 box so then it needed a tremec five speed. Truck has scratched that camaro flea that was itchin me right off my back. But what to do with that sweet little 283? Hmmm, that innocent little model A sure could use some ponnies.
