Re: 1950 Hudson Pacemaker
It has been quite sometime since I have posted in this thread. Today I picked up a 5.3/4L60E combo for the Hudson. Neighbor down the street is going to scrap his 2005 GMC Sierra because the frame is rotted. Traded him the Inline 6 flathead/3spd OD trans out of the Hudson. Tomorrow we are going to pick what we can from the truck before it gets hauled off. Thursdays plan is to make a trip to U-pull it and get an 8.8 rear end from a Ford Ranger to replace the Hudson rear end and that should be enough drive train pieces to keep me busy over the winter.

Todays harvest of the donor vehicle consisted of the tilt steering column with harness and fuse box, and the HVAC unit complete with ductwork and wiring.

Re: 1950 Hudson Pacemaker
The trip to U-pull it today did not disappoint and was a huge success. Picked up a hydroboost unit with MC, pedal, and brake light switch out of a 2004 Express 2500 van. Also found an 8.8 disc brake rear end out of a 2011 Ranger with 4.10 gears.

Re: 1950 Hudson Pacemaker
Today I changed the oil pan on the 5.3 and set the motor and transmission into the Hudson to start on mock up. Fits in there like it was factory lol

Re: 1950 Hudson Pacemaker
Made a little more progress yesterday. I made cardboard patterns for the motor mounts to be welded to the frame. Now they just need transferred to the metal ones to cut and fit before welding them in permanently.
