is it possible to get good u-nuts

As I take apart my vehicles to work on stuff I find things like u-nuts that are made of an actual nut, with a sheet metal clip. Here's a picture with examples of the older style and more modern stuff like extruded and all-sheet metal types.
1. square nut with sheet metal clip
2. extruded u-nut
3. all sheet metal u-nut (example is smaller than #8)

Most of the ones I find are rusted and needing to be replaced, and the example 1 is a survivor. I really like this type. Is it possible to buy them?

Thanks, I'm going to have a look at that. It is also good to know what they are calling them, it will help in searching.

Re: is it possible to get good u-nuts

I can get them at my local hardware store. They have an excellent Hillman display of hardware that takes up the whole isle. Thing is if you want in a larger quantity, then you're going to Fastenal or McMaster Carr or finding a direct supplier on line
